Hotline & data volume

The studNET consultation hours (Tuesdays 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) are canceled until further notice. In return, we are extending the opening hours of the telephone hotline (+49 1761 96 59 818) on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The data volume will be doubled to 600 GB per month until further notice!

In order to connect to the internet in our student halls please download the studNET client (please follow the link to download). Furthermore, please find useful documents and instructions for setting up your studNET access at the end of this page.

It is technically possible to use studNET with routers (wireless) and mobile devices (smartphones / tablets etc.). Please find general setup recommendations and videos in the download section below.

Internet Connection and Use

Internet access is included in the rental price in all student halls of residence and is available 24 hours a day (only via the network cable, not wireless). High-speed connections are available everywhere for this via studNET. Monthly data volumes are currently limited to 300 GB. An extension or a transfer of the volume of data is not possible. Your current data usage will be shown after you log in.

VPN - Access / VPN - Tunnel

Students of the University of Leipzig or HTWK Leipzig have the possibility to dial in through a VPN tunnel to the public network of the University or HTWK. From there the access to online services is possible.
