Our recap of the Info Day for Refugee and International Prospective Students 2023

Plenty of information and 500 visitors – the Info Day aroused a lot of interest.

Nearly 500 visitors from many parts of the world, e.g. from Ukraine, Indonesia, Chile, Afghanistan, Syria and Iran came to the Info Day for Refugee and International Prospective Students on May 5. In the foyer of the Nieper-Bau belonging to the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK) there were twelve info stands in total out of which six were run by colleges, mainly from Leipzig. 

Important information on the topics of access to higher education, requirements, application, financing one's studies and scolarships were not only given by the consultants at the info stands but also during three lectures in German and English language which were very well attended. 

In order to communicate with each other more easily, five language mediators for Ukranian, Russian, Spanish, French, Farsi and Arabic were present. In an exchange corner prospective students had the opportunity to talk to current students of the colleges in Leipzig. This opportunity was used very intensively.
