Bridging Assistance for Students in Financial Distress Restarted

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research resumed its support for students in pandemic related emergency situation.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is again helping students who are in urgent need due to the corona pandemic with subsidies from November 2020 to March 2021. These grants are awarded via the local Studentenwerk.

The bridging assistance is intended to help those students who are in a financial emergency situation that can be proven to be caused by the pandemic. It addresses students who need immediate financial assistance and who are not eligible for any other form of support.

From today, 20 November 2020, the bridging assistance can be applied for exclusively online.
