Excursion with tutors.

Tutors and Buddies

More than ten tutors of Studentenwerk Leipzig help foreign students with problems and questions concerning living, staying and studying in Germany or private worries. Tutors are volunteers and usually live in one of the student halls of residence of Studentenwerk.

Since March 2020, you can find the Tutors' Office in Nürnberger Straße 42, room 115. It offers the possibility for students to meet people and ask the tutors questions. The Tutors' Office is usually open twice a week.

To promote integration and to take care of foreign students, the tutors plan numerous activities such as the buddy program, welcome week, student hall running dinner, tableware exchange, game and movie nights and many more…

For more information on tutors and their activities, please visit the tutors’ websites directly.

Activities and services provided by tutors

The tutors plan numerous activities for foreign students  - from guided city tours to cooking classes, Yoga courses, and pub-crawls to buddy brunch and speed-friending - there is something for everyone! Are you curious?

Further information on the tutors’ activities and services as well as the complete semester program are available here.

The tutors’ buddy program

To help international students to settle and find their way in Leipzig, the tutors offer the buddy program. Within the scope of this program, foreign students (looking for a buddy) are matched with "Leipzig-experienced" students (buddies), who help them with words and deeds during their first weeks.

Tableware exchange

Tableware Exchange

You go out into the big wide world, move into your room at the student hall of residence, open the doors of the cupboard and you find ... nothing! No plates, no cups, no cutlery ...

For new, in particular international students, the Studentenwerk tutors offer the service of collecting a few basic household articles at no extra charge. When you do not need them anymore or leave Leipzig, you have to return them.

The Tableware Exchange is located in the basement of Nürnberger Str. 48, room 26.
